by Alamgir Hossain Shemul on 6 May, 2012

W3 Total Cache is the Single most important plugin for a WordPress blog. It must be installed for a new blogger. if you want a review of this beautiful plugin i would like to request you to Google it ! I am here to show the best settings for this plugin.

Actually those who dont have much knowledge about coding or such things may get into trouble after install this plugin. I also felt that problem, so i have decided to write a post about the settings that should apply for best results. So lets begin:

General Settings of W3 Total Cache:

After installing the plugin Go to Dashboard. Click on the Performance from the left Menu bar. Start from the General settings. Make a Backup then Proceed. You may be prompted to allow W3 Total Cache to install lines of code in your .htaccess file.

Page cache: The page cache makes static pages from your dynamic content and serves them up to your users, instead of creating pages on-demand, which reduces your server load. Enable page caching to decrease the response time of your site.

Minify: Removes line breaks, comments and spaces from CSS and HTML files to decrease their size, thus delivers them quickly to the user. Minification can decrease file size of HTML, CSS, JS and feeds respectively by ~10% on average. Enable minify.
Minify mode: Auto
Minify Cache Method: Disk
Others are default.

Database Cache: It Saves the results of database queries instead of looking to the database every time the request is made, which significantly reduces the impact on your SQL server. Enable database caching to reduce post, page and feed creation time.
Database Cache Method: Disk

Enable Object Cache and Browser Cache. CDN , Varnish or Cloudflare not suitable for me, if you want go at your own risk. I think thats not necessary.

In Miscellaneous settings: Enable Verify rewrite rules. You can Enable Google Page Speed dashboard widget if you wish. Get your API by following the rules mentioned there.
